How does BriizPay work?

BriizPay uses UK Open Banking to enable secure bank-to-bank transfers. Your customers pay directly from their bank account to yours through their banking app - no cards, no contactless payments, just fast bank transfers over Faster Payments. You can generate payment links or QR codes that customers scan to complete payments through their own banking app.

What are the transaction fees?

BriizPay charges a flat monthly subscription, not a percentage of each sale. Each plan includes a set number of free Open Banking transactions per month: 60 on Starter, 250 on Growth. If you go over your monthly allowance, a small per-transaction overage fee applies (£0.49 on Starter, £0.39 on Growth). There are no card processing fees and no hidden charges.

Is there a limit on transactions?

Each plan comes with a monthly allowance of included Open Banking transactions, 60 on Starter and 250 on Growth. You can always do more transactions beyond that allowance; a small overage rate applies (£0.49/transaction on Starter, £0.39 on Growth). Enterprise plans can be tailored for high-volume merchants.

How quickly do I receive payments?

BriizPay uses UK Open Banking for direct bank-to-bank transfers over the Faster Payments network. Funds move directly from your customer's bank account to yours, typically within seconds, though in some cases it can take up to two hours depending on the banks involved. There's no multi-day card-settlement wait.

What payment methods can I accept?

On the Starter plan, customers pay via UK Open Banking, a secure, bank-regulated bank-to-bank transfer through their banking app. The Growth plan also adds card payments, so you can accept both. All major UK banks and building societies are supported for Open Banking payments.

Do I need special hardware?

No! BriizPay works entirely through UK Open Banking, so you don't need any payment terminals, card readers, or special hardware. You can generate payment links or QR codes using our app or website, and customers pay directly through their own banking app. It's that simple!

Is BriizPay available outside the UK?

Currently, BriizPay services are only available to businesses operating within the United Kingdom. We're working on expanding to other regions in the future.

Yes! Customer tipping is available on all plans including Starter. This lets your customers easily add a tip at the point of payment, great for hospitality, beauty, and service businesses.

How many devices can I use?

The number of devices depends on your plan: Starter allows up to 2 devices, Growth allows up to 5 devices, and Enterprise offers unlimited devices. Perfect for businesses with multiple staff members or locations.

What happens if I want to cancel?

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees.

Is my payment data secure?

Yes. BriizPay initiates payments through UK Open Banking using an FCA-authorised payment initiation provider. The regulated payment service is provided by that authorised partner, and payments are processed directly between banks over secure, encrypted connections. We never see or store your customers' banking credentials; they authorise each payment in their own bank's app. This is one of the safest ways to accept payments.

Can I get a discount?

Yes! Use a referral code when signing up to save £5/month on your subscription for 12 months (a saving of up to £60). Choose yearly billing to save the equivalent of 2 months compared to paying monthly. You can also earn up to £25 per referral through our referral programme.
